These Manawatu photos show typical New Zealand farm scenes.
 
The Manawatu (pronounced: Man-a-wa-too), where the town of Woodville, the setting for Rosabelle, is located. has very pituresque farmland.  There are many sheep farms in the area and old wooden farm houses.  These pictures show what the peaceful region looks like.
 
Roses grow well in the region - all the ladies in Rosabelle are very fond of gardens.  See beautiful pictures of blooming roses below.
