Palmy author signing: Police in kilts?

Well, the weather was fine last weekend in Palmy(!) for my author signing at Paper Plus. We were serenaded with bagpipe music - as a national pipe band competition was on at The Square. Police wearing kilts walked past the shop window (members of the NZ Police Pipe Band.) Mr Dunkerton would've been proud!
Lovely to meet all those that came, and a big thank you to the friendly staff at the store for making me feel welcome.
Quote of the day, to the lady who said to another customer: "This is the best book I've read in a long time. You have to buy it!" How to make an author's day!
